When following a gluten-free, grain-free or sugar-free lifestyle choosing snacks, to have on the go or when in a hurry, can be a tricky area. Most snacks contain some type of grain and or chemical preservatives, artificial flavourings or MSG (mono-sodium glutamate) and thus do nothing for our health. However, the good news is that with a little preparation we can have delicious snacks on hand at any time.
Dips and crudités are a fabulous way to fill the tummy between meals and are super easy and quick to prepare. Also by eating your veg raw it will pack your body with valuable health-promoting, life-enhancing,anti-ageing enzymes.
This dip is delicious when served with potato wedges or with gluten-free tortilla chips or rice cakes, for those not following a grain-free lifestyle
1/2 cup cream cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup of strong blue cheese, such as Roquefort or Stilton, crumbled
choice of salad vegetables, such as celery, carrot and cucumber, chopped into batons
Simply place all ingredients (except veg) into a medium bowl and, using a hand blender, whip up into a creamy consistency.
