Sugar-Free Banana and Chocolate Mousse

Chocolate MousseIf you’ve got a serious hankering for a chocolate-fix, this recipe will certainly hit the mark. It is incredibly indulgent, easy to whip up and, if you’re following a low sugar/carb/GI plan, won’t spike your blood sugar.

Bananas are one of nature’s miracle foods, being packed full of nutrients they are the ultimate fast food, which come in their own packaging!


Suitable for maintenance, levels 1,2,3 and 4


Serves 4

1 large ripe banana mashed

1 cup of double cream, whipped to thick consistency

1/2 cup cream cheese

1 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder

2 tsp granulated stevia (Truvia in UK) or 1 tbsp agave nectar or honey


Simply place all above ingredients into a medium bowl and mix together with a hand mixer. Check for sweetness of recipe. Depending on one’s sweet tooth more sweetener may be required. Spoon mixture into ramekins and chill till needed.

Serve on own or with hazelnut shortbread
